I am born and raised in Burbank, California. The entertainment industry has always been a part of who I am. Disney, Warner Brothers, and Universal Studios were essentially my backyard. With much of my family being involved in this business, the creative bug definitely bit me at an early age. It wasn't until I graduated from San Diego State University that I began to explore more creative urges. I ended moving to Mexico City where I learned to speak spanish and began studying with a vocal coach as i was inspired by the Mexican culture, especially the mariachi music. After two years of intense work with the language and my voice, I eventually signed a record deal with BMG and began my career as an international recording artist singing pop/ballads in Spanish. It was during those next few years that my passion for photography began to emerge as well. The more I traveled and toured Latin America, the more i wanted to capture all that i saw. It was an experience that forever changed my life.
As for so many other people in the world, September 11, 2001, was a defining moment for me. This was the release date for my second album and also the night of the Latin Grammy Awards which I was to attend in Los Angeles. Obviously, everything was put on hold. I started to think about what I wanted in my life and began taking acting classes here in LA. I soon booked a recurring role on "24" as Miguel. Many roles and opportunities followed, all the while experimenting and playing around taking photos. The chapter seemed to close with singing and another began with acting. This is the chapter where I meet my amazing wife, Amita. She eventually told me to "stop talking about photography and really do it.” She was right. So I enrolled at UCLA, taking extension classes in photography.
While still acting and now working as a freelance photographer, our beautiful little boy, Lucas, was born. This was when I decided it was time to take a break from acting and focus more on my newest role, Dad. If I was not holding our baby, I was holding a camera. My photography business grew thereafter and evolved to what it is today. With my son now busy at school, I have started to get back in front of the camera as well. Actor...photographer. Photographer...actor. Bottom line, I'm a creative!
All this experience is a key element that I bring to every photo shoot. Wether I'm getting that special moment with the bride & groom or helping a fellow actor get the shots they need to take their career to the next level, I know that I am blessed to be able to create everyday.
I am beyond lucky for my family and I absolutely love what I do!
